Columbus, OH (NOV. 29, 2016) ~ USA -- Knife weilding suspect Abdul Razak Ali Artan was almost immediately shot by OSU police officer Alan Horujko. Horujko was immediately hailed as a hero by mainstream media. Horujko is perhaps a hero for ending a serious threat. However, it appears that mainstream media is not telling the entire story. Most significantly, several of the students injured during the attack were injured by Horujko’s poor marksmanship, not by Artan’s knife.

OAKLAND, Calif. -- (WCJB) ~ United States California officials fear dozens may have died in a massive fire that swept through an Oakland warehouse where a concert was taking place Friday night. Nine people have been confirmed dead, and dozens of others remain missing, officials said. In a news conference Saturday, authorities said they expected the death toll to rise, but they did not know by how much. “We’re expecting the worst — maybe a couple dozen victims here,” Sgt. Ray Kelly, spokesman for the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office, told reporters. “We did not have a lot of victims go to the hospital,” Kelly said. “It appears that people either made it out, or they didn’t make it out.”

EL CENTRO, CA (WCJB) ~ United States The El Centro Police Department said it's investigating a video that shows officers using force on a suspect who put several people in danger Tuesday afternoon. The video shows officers beating 23-year-old Elizardo Saenz, an El Centro resident. It also shows a K-9 police dog attacking Saenz. (Click here for video)

Oakland, CA (WCJB) ~ United States -- A sex scandal involving Oakland police officers and a then underage girl has all the makings of a TV thriller. The saga is full of twists and turns. The scandal erupted months after Officer Brendan O'Brien committed suicide. O'Brien left a note spilling the details, including names. Three Oakland officers were placed on paid leave. A source said O'Brien in his suicide note confessed to exchanging messages with a young woman who goes by the name Celeste Guap. However, the note says he did not have sexual contact with her. The same sources said she has met multiple officers. In the note, O'Brien named the officers, including one sergeant, involved in the alleged sexual misconduct with Guap. Guap is the daughter of a Oakland police dispatcher. The police investigation will look at whether Guap was under age during some of the encounters with officers. (Click here for video)

New Orleans, LA (WCJB) ~ United States -- On September 4, 2005, New Orleans police received a call from an officer at Danziger Bridge reporting gunfire. Several NOPD officers—including Sgt. Kenneth Bowen, Sgt. Robert Gisevius, Officer Anthony Villavaso, and Officer Robert Faulcon—arrived at the scene in a Budget rental truck. They proceeded to open fire with assault rifles and a shotgun on an unarmed family, the Bartholomews, who had been walking to a grocery store and were then sheltering behind a concrete barrier. 17-year-old James Brissette—a family friend—was killed, and four other people were wounded. The police shooters stated that while approaching the bridge, they had been fired on by civilians, and were forced to return fire. Homicide detective Arthur "Archie" Kaufman was made the lead investigator on the case. He was later found guilty of conspiring with the defendants to conceal evidence in order to make the shootings appear justified, including fabricating information for his official reports on the case. NOPD lieutenant Michael Lohman also encouraged the officers to "provide false stories about what had precipitated the shooting" and plant a firearm near the scene. (Click here for video)

Aiken, S.C. (WCJB) ~ United States -- A horrifying new dashcam video shows at least one white member of the Aiken, S.C. Police Department search inside a black man’s rectum for the apparent crime of being a passenger in a car with paper tags, which, it bears noting, is not a crime in the state of South Carolina. Driving a car with paper tags isn’t illegal either, as long as they aren’t expired. The car belonged to a woman named Lakeya Hicks, who had the paper tags because she had recently purchased the vehicle. Hicks’ tags weren’t expired, and a check on her license came up clean. However, the cops didn’t let her go. (Click here for video)

Brooklyn, NY (WCJB) ~ United States -- When an unmarked police car drove very close to mailman Glenn Grays in Brooklyn, Grays shouted at the car. Four plainclothes officers got out of the car and started to handcuff him. Grays initially tried to resist, and one of the officers said “Stop resisting! You’re going to get hurt if you don’t give me your fucking hands.” (Click here for video)

New York ~ United States -- Opening statements and testimony began this week in the long-awaited trial of New York City police officer Peter Liang for the killing of Akai Gurley, an unarmed 28-year-old African-American man walking down the stairs in his apartment building, part of the Louis H. Pink housing projects in the East New York section of Brooklyn. Jury selection in the case was completed last week. Gurley died more than 14 months ago, on November 20, 2014, as two cops were making a “vertical patrol,” checking the stairwells in the high-rise building. As Brooklyn Assistant District Attorney Marc Fliedner put it, opening the prosecution’s case, “Akai Gurley is dead today because he crossed paths with Peter Liang.” Liang was indicted by a Brooklyn grand jury on manslaughter and other charges last February, and both prosecution and defense agree on the immediate events that led to Gurley’s death.(Click here for video)
Oklahoma City, OK ~ United States -- Daniel Holtzclaw has officially been sentenced for the rape and sexual assault of 13 Black women in Oklahoma. Will serve the rest of his life behind bars. Chicago, IL -- Surveillance video (Click here for video) in connection with a Chicago police officer's fatally shooting 17-year-old Cedrick Chatman was released today by attorneys for the teen's family. A federal judge ordered the release of footage showing the 2013 shooting today after the city withdrew its objection to its being made public. Chicago police officer Kevin Fry fatally shot Chatman Jan. 7, 2013, in broad daylight during a foot chase, according to court records. Chatman’s family had fought for the video to be released as part of a wrongful death lawsuit they filed over the shooting against the city, Fry and Chicago police officer Lou Toth, who pursued Chatman along with Fry during the foot chase. Family members have argued the video will counter the city and police’s narrative that the 17-year-old was a danger to police. IPRA concluded the officers' actions were justified because they reasonably believed Chatman was armed at the time.

Brooklyn, NY -- A newly-released surveillance video (Click here for video) contradicts an undercover NYPD police officer who arrested four people in Brooklyn for allegedly trying to rob him on Dec. 26, 2015, according to a defense lawyer. Jean Scott, 33; Peterson Duplan, 28; Ricardi Joseph, 29; and Samantha Dabel, 24, said that they were approached by a man who tried to buy drugs from them at a hardware store. The undercover cop was identified as Winston McDonald, who testified in court that Duplan allegedly flashed a switchblade at him outside of the store, and said, "Give me your money or I will stab you," according to court papers.

Forth Worth, TX -- The mother of ‘affluenza’ teen Ethan Couch was ordered released from a Tarrant County jail cell after a bond hearing this afternoon. She may be leaving the jail soon. Judge Wayne Salvant ordered her bond reduced to $75,000 with several conditions. The conditions include weekly visits with the Community Supervisions and Corrections Department of Tarrant County. She is also not to consume alcoholic beverages or use social media. “Let’s look at it for what it is, I understand everyone is concerned and there is outrage in the community… but as a judge I have to look at the law,” said Judge Salvant. Couch and her lawyers were present at a 2 p.m. bond hearing at the Tarrant County Justice Center hoping to have her bond reduced. It was originally set at $1 million since she was charged with Hindering Apprehension of a Felon. (Click here for video)

Salt Lake City, Utah -- Exactly one year after a man was shot and killed during an altercation with a Salt Lake City Police Department officer, a former Davis County Sheriff says new video (Click here for video)footage indicates the officer's actions may not have been justified. James Barker, 42, was shot and killed January 8, 2015 after officer Matthew Taylor responded to a 911 call about a suspicious person and an altercation ensued, during which Barker appeared to strike the officer with a snow shovel.

Philadelphia, PA ~ USA -- Corrupt Justice™ has obtained a video (Click here for video) of the police shooting that took place Thursday night at 60th and Spruce streets. Edward Archer, a 30-year-old Delaware County man who has allegedly claimed an allegiance to ISIS, shot and wounded Officer Jesse Hartnett at 11:41 p.m. last night, city police said. Stunningly, Hartnett can be seen in the video getting out of his patrol car and chasing down the shooter after being ambushed. Officials say Hartnett is in critical but stable condition.

Miami, FL ~ USA -- A Florida jury began weighing on Tuesday whether a man who killed his wife and posted a photo of her blood-spattered, lifeless body on Facebook committed first-degree murder. Attorneys for Derek Medina, 33, argued that he was acting in self-defense when he fired eight shots at Jennifer Alfonso, 27, in the kitchen of their Miami-area residence. The August 2013 shooting followed a fight in which she had threatened to leave, prosecutors said during closing statements. They argued that Medina retrieved a .380-caliber pistol from his bedroom and pulled the trigger repeatedly in a premeditated act of murder. "Every single shot hit her because he was aiming and he wanted her dead," said Assistant State Attorney Leah Klein in Miami-Dade County circuit court. Medina wrote on Facebook shortly before turning himself in: "I'm going to prison or death sentence for killing my wife. My wife was punching me, and I am not going to stand any more with the abuse so I did what I did," he added in the post. (Click here for video)

He did not appear visibly moved; when asked if he understood the charges, he replied simply: “Yes.” Bail was set at $1m, of which Cosby will have to pay 10% on Wednesday. Cosby faces up to 10 years in prison for each charge.

It was unclear what led to the incident, in which more than two dozen shots seemed to be fired. No deputies were injured. In accordance with protocol, a multi-agency investigation was underway.

Oklahoma City OK ~ USA -- A former Oklahoma City police officer was convicted Thursday of 18 of the 36 counts he faced, including four counts of first-degree rape, related to accusations that he victimized 13 women on his police beat in a minority, low-income neighborhood. Daniel Holtzclaw, 29, sobbed (Click here for video) as the verdict was read aloud. He could spend the rest of his life in prison based on the jury's recommendations, which include a 30-year sentence on each of the first-degree rape counts. Among the other charges he was convicted of were forcible oral sodomy, sexual battery and second-degree rape. The jury, which deliberated for about 45 hours over four days, recommended he serve a total of 263 years in prison. The judge will decide later whether he will have to serve the sentences consecutively.

Cops That Sexually Offend! - Part XVIII

September 10, 2009

Tracy, CA -- Melissa Huckaby, the California Sunday schoolteacher charged with kidnapping, raping and killing 8-year-old Sandra Cantu last March, could face the death penalty if convicted, prosecutors said today. San Joaquin County District Attorney James P. Willett said in court today that he will seek capital punishment for 28-year-old Huckaby. Huckaby, who was at the hearing, "showed no emotion" as Willett announced his intentions, but did say she wanted to fire her attorney, according to The Associated Press. Huckaby did not give a reason for her decision for wanting new representation. In August, Huckaby broke down in tears when she was indicted in a Stockton, Calif., courtroom for the crimes against Cantu and on allegations of drugging two others. The murder charge, which included the special circumstances of kidnapping, lewd and lascivious acts with a child and rape with a foreign object, made her eligible for the death penalty upon conviction. The second-grader's body was found April 6, 2009 stuffed in a suitcase in an irrigation pond 10 days after she disappeared from the Orchard Estates Mobile Home Park in Tracy, Calif.

Aggravation!

Posted: Monday, June 1, 2015 ~ Updated: Tuesday, June 2, 2015

Chattanooga, TN -- A former city police officer who earlier pleaded guilty to aggravated statutory rape has now been arrested for aggravated robbery.

Chad E. Bradley also was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and public intoxication.

Police said the incident on Saturday was first called in by Bradley. He said he was at 4205 Green Shanty Road with friends from a motorcycle club when he was assaulted. He said he was attacked by two men because he disrespected one of their wives.

Bradley said he grabbed his things and left. He said the men got on their motorcycles and were coming after him. He said he hid in bushes at the 4300 block of Green Shanty Road.

An investigator went to the address where the incident took place and spoke with Ronnie Byrd and Russell Gilmore as well as Vickie Byrd. Gilmore said he had just got through stitching his thumb up. He displayed his left thumb with a fresh bandage around it.

Gilmore said Bradley was drinking and made a threatening move toward him. He said he hit Bradley in the face.

Gilmore said Bradley went to lie down, but returned later with a knife and tried to assault Vickie Byrd. Gilmore said he stepped between them and was cut on the thumb. All three said Bradley then left with his belongings.

Ms. Byrd said Bradley was assaulted by her husband and Gilmore after making some remarks about her and arguing with her husband. She said when Bradley came toward her with the knife, he took her cell phone. Police said Bradley used that phone to call police.

On the way to jail, police said Bradley became belligerent and outraged. He said he was a nine-year veteran of the Chattanooga Police Department and was being falsely charged.

He said Bradley told him, "Take your badge off and I will beat your (expletive) a--."

The officer said Bradley threatened him and his family by saying, "Don't worry, I'll find you and your family."

Bradley in May 2011 was given a three-year suspended sentence in Hamilton County Criminal Court on the statutory rape.

Bradley earlier pleaded guilty to statutory rape in Meigs County and got a two-year sentence there. He served 30 days in jail in Meigs County. The cases involved sex with the same 17-year-old girl.

Prosecutor Lance Pope at the time said Bradley would be a registered sex offender and have to undergo sex offender counseling.

Suspended!

Posted: Wednesday, May 18, 2011

Chattanooga, TN -- A former city police officer has been given a suspended three-year sentence after earlier pleading guilty to aggravated statutory rape.

Chad E. Bradley had faced 2-4 years at the sentencing conducted by Criminal Court Judge Don Poole.

Bradley earlier pleaded guilty to statutory rape in Meigs County and got a two-year sentence there. He served 30 days in jail in Meigs County. The cases involved sex with the same 17-year-old girl.

Prosecutor Lance Pope said Bradley will be a registered sex offender and will have to undergo sex offender counseling.

Bradley testified that he met the girl while working a second job at the Bluff View Art District. He said she and other girls were dancing around and he checked them to see if they might be intoxicated. He said afterward they came up to him and began talking. He said that led him to begin seeing the Meigs County girl. He said she looked like she might be in her 20s.

He said she told him she was 18 years old, though she had just turned 17. He said he checked with the girl's mother just to make sure, and she also said she was 18. He said the girl's mother "encouraged the bedroom activities" between the two. Bradley was 35 at the time.

He said he learned the true age of the girl when he was looking at some paperwork on her during a medical visit. He said after he found out she was 17, he did not have sex with her again.

Bradley said he is back with his family and they are active members of Redemption Point Church.

Sgt. James Appugliese said Bradley was "a very good officer who required very little if any supervision. I don't know of anyone who didn't like Chad. He was just a pleasure to have as an officer."

He said at one point he noticed that Bradley seemed down and he asked him about it. He said Bradley stated, "I'm having a little trouble at home." He said Bradley later told him he had reconciled with his wife.

The witness said he was "shocked" when he learned of the charge. He said Bradley told him "he thought she was 18 and that even her mom told him she was 18."

Bradley was terminated from the police department after the charge. He had been a city officer since 2000.

He said he recently worked at Sav-A-Lot in Fort Oglethorpe making minimum wage, but was later told he could no longer work there. He said he now works in Dalton.

The arrest was made in September 2009. Chattanooga investigators and Meigs County Sheriff’s investigators said the victim allegedly confirmed two consensual sexual encounters while he (Officer Bradley) was on duty after their relationship started in July of 2009.

The victim stated that consensual sex occurred in Meigs County as recently as four days prior to his arrest.

The charges included a consensual sexual encounter that allegedly occurred in August 2009 at 760 Pan Gap Road (Fire Police Outing Club Property).

Chad Bradley

September 8, 2009

We're learning more about a terminated Chattanooga Police officer accused of rape. Chad Bradley now faces charges alleging that he had sex with a 17 year old girl. According to police, the investigation was initiated Wednesday. Investigation revealed Officer Bradley allegedly had consensual sexual encounters with an underaged girl from Meigs County. Chattanooga investigators and Meigs County Sheriff's investigators located the 17-year-old victim Friday and interviewed her and confirmed several consensual sexual encounters, two of which were while Officer Bradley was on duty. Their relationship started in July 2009.

If the allegations on the arrest report are true. It does not paint a pretty picture for Chad Bradley. A now unemployed Chattanooga Police officer facing multiple criminal charges.

The details of the arrest report reveal the accusations against Bradley came from the accuser's sister. She told investigators that her 17 year old sister met the 35 year old Bradley (pictured above left) in July when he was working downtown near the Hunter Art Museum.
The sister tells investigators a sexual relationship started the next day when Bradley sent the teenager a picture of himself in uniform holding handcuffs. According to the report, she told them the text read "come here sexy". The woman also told investigators her sister admitted she was having sex with Bradley and that she thought she was pregnant at one point.

Bradley was arrested last Friday, September 4, 2009 and the 9 year police veteran was fired. Chattanooga Police Department Major Crimes has charged Chattanooga Police Officer Chad E. Bradley, 35, with:

•Aggravated Statutory Rape TCA;
•Statutory Rape by an Authority Figure; and
•Tampering with Evidence.

The arrest report also states the woman told investigators Bradley and her sister had sex in her truck twice while Bradley was on duty and that the two did the same about 5 times at a place called the Fire Police Outing Club on Pan Gap Road. The complaint also alleges that Bradley had been staying with the teen at a house in Decatur. Police secured a search warrant for the alleged victim's cell phone. The affidavit states the teen had multiple text messages on her phone implicating the two were involved.

The complaint also states when Bradley (Chattanooga Police Officer Chad E. Bradley's Mug Shot, left) went to police services to talk to investigators he told them he didn't want to make a statement and that he didn't have his personal cell phone with him. Bradley told them he didn't know where his phone was, but later detectives found out Bradley had given the cell phone to his supervisor. That's when investigators tacked on the tampering with evidence charge. Bradley made bail, posted at 25-thousand dollars. He's under investigation for similar charges in Meigs County. We did ask the police department to comment and they refused.

The victim stated consensual sex occurred as recently as four days ago in Meigs County. Police say the charges filed Friday are from a consensual sexual encounter that occurred in August 2009 at a Fire Police Outing Club Property. The investigation is still ongoing as incidents have occurred in two Tennessee counties (Meigs and Hamilton) and possibly three law enforcement jurisdictions. Police say additional charges may be pending once law enforcement jurisdictions have been verified on the other incidents.

Update!

September 20, 2009

SEATTLE – An insane killer who slipped away from the staff of a mental institution on a field trip Thursday to the Spokane County Interstate Fair was recaptured Sunday without injury more than 180 miles away in south-central Washington state.

SPOKANE, Wash. – A criminally insane killer who escaped during a mental hospital field trip to a county fair remained on the run Friday, September 18, 2009 and furious residents and officials wondered why such a dangerous person was out in public. Authorities believe Phillip Arnold Paul, 47, (pictured left) is heading to the Sunnyside, Wash., area, where his parents and many siblings live. The Spokane County Sheriff's Office used a helicopter to search Friday, and officers also searched transient camps along railroad tracks in the area. The public was urged to call 911. "He is in a bad mental state," his brother, Tom Paul, told The Associated Press. "Why would they load him on a bus and take him to a fair?" That's a question many are asking.

Paul was committed after he was acquitted by reason of insanity in the 1987 slaying of an elderly woman in Sunnyside. He soaked the woman's body in gasoline to throw off search dogs and buried the remains in her flower garden. "Why was he allowed to take such a trip?" Gov. Chris Gregoire said Friday. "Why did they go to a location that was so heavily populated with families?" Authorities at Eastern State Hospital are being criticized for allowing Paul to visit the fair despite his violent criminal past and history of trying to escape. Spokane County Commissioner Mark Richard has called it unacceptable, and the state Department of Social and Health Services ordered an immediate end to such trips and launched an investigation into the practice.

Police Officers Arrested

in March of 2009!

David Jones

September 16, 2009

A former Jeffersontown police officer is behind bars Monday, September 14 after allegedly raping a woman. And it's not the first time he's been in trouble with the law. The suspect, David Jones (pictured left), worked as a Jeffersontown police officer for 20 years before retiring back in 1994. Now, Jones is behind bars, accused of raping a woman who he is related to by marriage. Former Jeffersontown police officer David Jones was arrested on a charge of first degree rape Saturday, September 12, 2009.

Even though Louisville Metro Police conducted the investigation, Jones' former brothers in blue from the J-town force took him into custody. The victim reported to police that she accompanied Jones to a rural farm in eastern Jefferson County. There, Jones allegedly came up behind the woman, pulled down her sweat pants and raped her.

The accusations against David Jones state: “Defendant came up behind victim and pulled down her sweat pants. Victim asked defendant, what are you doing?” “Victim screamed "no" but no one heard victim screaming...” the accusation said.

According to Jones’ wife regarding his arrest, “They let him change his t-shirt, they did not handcuff him. They let him smoke. Jeffersontown's police chief Rick Sanders also came. Of course, I was hysterical, I was hysterical,” said Jones’ wife. “I'm his best friend. It didn't happen,” said Cecelia Jones. She says that Jones was medically unable to have committed the crime. She also says the victim waited more than a day to report the crime. “She made the accusation that I didn't turn him on, but she did. Well if you see her, and you see me...” said Cecelia.

“She came back Thursday and spent the night here after this happened. Now why would you come to stay in a home with the man who raped you?” said Cecelia. Corrupt Justice tried to talk to the victim Monday, September 14th but was unable to reach her. The Jeffersontown police department had no comment about Jones' arrest, since it is LMPD's case.

Jones was already awaiting trial for allegedly kidnapping a man at gunpoint while impersonating a police officer in May. Now, he's facing an even more serious charge.

In May of 2009, Jeffersontown police say Jones, a retired police officer, was hired by a local company to work a bad check case as a private citizen. Jeffersontown's police chief says it was a U.S. treasury check and it was stolen. Police say Jones went to the man's home that the check was made out to and demanded money. The man said he was going to call police. Police say Jones said he was the police and showed a badge and a weapon. Jeffersontown police say Jones retired as a police officer back in 1994. He is charged with multiple charges including intimidation and impersonating a peace officer.

Sgt. Michael Rodrigues

September 10, 2009

A sheriff's deputy, Sgt. Michael Rodrigues, who served with the office for 25 years, is charged with four counts of rape with additional counts of unlawful sexual penetration and domestic violence. A county grand jury indicted him in December 2007 accusing him of raping three women, while prosecutors added a fourth suspected victim in the fall of 2008. Rodrigues is charged with raping four women, stemming from incidents that allegedly began in the spring of 1999. On top of the four rape charges, Rodrigues also faces charges of unlawful sexual penetration and domestic violence. The trial is being heard by visiting Monterey County Judge Alan Hedegard.

The case against alleged rapist, former San Benito County sheriff's Sgt. Michael Rodrigues (pictured above left, white shirt), began Wednesday afternoon, September 9, 2009 in San Benito County Superior Court after jury selection was completed Tuesday. Opening statements began with Assistant District Attorney Patrick Palacios thanking the jury for being there and told them a juror has the greatest job in the world because they can "seek the truth and do justice." The prosecutor of the case then went on to highlight the story of each suspected victim. While recounting the details of the suspected incidents between Rodrigues and each suspected victim, Palacios continually reminded the jurors that Rodrigues didn't take 'no' for an answer.

"Nobody says 'no' to me," he said in reference to Rodrigues.

In summarizing each victim's case, Palacios talked about how Rodrigues would "find" his victims while he was on patrol or how he approached one of his suspected victims in the parking lot at Jerry's Restaurant and took her to a remote location to have his way. Palacios concluded that these stories will be confirmed by witness testimony.

"I expect that we're going to hear from others that have witnessed this behavior from an out-of-control Mikey Rodrigues."

Palacios finished the prosecution's opening statement predicting how the defense might handle the trial.

"(They) may have the audacity to say one of the victims never had a relationship. That's Mikey, deny, deny and attack," Palacios said. "Nobody says 'no' to Mikey."

For the defense's opening statement, attorney Art Cantu attempted to discount many of the stories of the suspected victims by pointing out inconsistencies. For example, when reviewing one of the stories of the third suspected victim, Cantu said she was reportedly raped multiple times and yet moved in with Rodrigues. Along with that, he contended internal affairs investigators with the sheriff's office and Hollister police detectives talked with her and showed no effort to corroborate her story.

Cantu also told the jurors to follow the No. 1 rule in jury selection - use common sense and listen for the truth.

"Is it true, is it true?" he said. "Is what you're hearing true?"

When Cantu got to the last suspected victim, he discredited her story by saying that the first time the two met, Rodrigues raped her but, shortly thereafter, fell in love.

"Does that sound like the beginning of a relationship with flowers and romance?" he questioned.

After relatively short opening statements, the prosecution called its first witness of two, one of the suspected rape victims. Most of her testimony focused on the night of the incident and she testified that Rodrigues was acting "like I've never seen (him) before."

During the cross examination, the defense questioned whether there was any consent during the suspected rape when things escalated. The witness said there was consent at first, but after things turned differently, she said "no" to everything.

After cross examination by the defense, the prosecution also called its second witness to the stand, who is a close friend of the first witness. The first suspected victim called to the stand this morning phoned the second witness, a friend of hers, the following morning, according to the testimony.

Walter Finley Jr.

September 10, 2009

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A Goldsboro police officer was arrested Thursday, September 10, 2009 and charged with a series of four sexual assaults that occurred between 1995 and 2000, police said. Authorities say some of the sexual offenses occurred while he was still on the force. Walter Finley Jr., 40, of 1103 Edgerton St., was charged with one count of first-degree rape and three counts of first-degree sexual offense. He was being held Thursday in the Wayne County Jail under a $1 million bond.

Finley (pictured above center) was an officer with the Goldsboro Police Department from 1993 to 1999, when he resigned, police said. Some of the alleged incidents with which he is charged occurred during that period, while he was on duty. All of the alleged victims are acquaintances of Finley, police said. No other details of the alleged incidents were released.
